Economics is a branch of social science deals with the study and analysis of how people use and react to resources, wealth, money, goods and services. Economics also analyzes and describes production, distribution, consumption of goods and services. 'Economics' comes from two Greek words, 'eco' meaning home and 'nomos' meaning accounts. Development Economics is the branch of economics which deals on improving fiscal, economic and social conditions in developing countries. It focuses on how people in a society can escape poverty and enjoy a better standard of living. Bachelor of Arts or B.A. in Development Economics is a three year graduate course with six semesters of study. This course is designed to teach the theoretical and practical aspects of development economics. The course also helps students to develop analytical, judgmental, presentation and communication skills.
