Malayalam is the official language of Kerala, the southern state of India. It is a powerful Dravidian language with fifty six letters. The first part in the word ‘Malayalam’ ie, ‘Mala’ may refer to hill, and the last part ‘Alam’ may refer to depths. Bachelor of Arts or B.A. in Malayalam is a graduate course with the duration of three years with six semesters of study. This program is designed to teach Malayalam language and literature and also to teach the social, historical and cultural aspects of Malayalam.
