Bachelor of Performing Arts or B.P.A in Music (Violin) is a three year graduate course with six semesters of study. This course is designed to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills in Violin, a stringed musical instrument of treble pitch, played with a horsehair bow and also help to acquire knowledge in music and performing arts. The violin, here and there known as a fiddle, is a wooden string instrument in the violin family. This course will develop superior technical collaborative skills in the student’s major area through a combination of practice, coaching, and rehearsal in large and small assembles. The violin is also extensively used as a solo instrument in both Carnatic and Hindustani styles. It is accompanied by the mridangam, tabla, and allied percussion instruments like the ghatam.
