Bachelor of Science or B.Sc. in Zoology (Medical Microbiology) is a three year graduate course which teaches zoology with specialization in medical microbiology subjects in the same course. Zoology is the branch of biology that studies the animal kingdom and animal life in general. Zoology subjects encompass all aspects of scientific knowledge about animals, like embryonic development, evolution, behavior, ecological distribution, and classification. Medical Microbiology is a branch of science concerned with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases. This six semester course covers medical and molecular aspects of microbiology and immunity to infection, incorporating traditional and current methods of laboratory diagnosis, treatment, epidemiology and management of infection. This course teaches the nature, distribution and activities of microbes and how they impact on health and well-being.
