B.Tech or Bachelor of Technology in Production Engineering is a four-year professional undergraduate engineering program with eight semesters of study. Production engineering is an essential component of any industrialized economy and it is the subset of mechanical engineering focus on machine tools, tribology, materials science, product design and development, quality control, testing etc. Production Engineering deals with the various process required to produce parts and to assemble them into machines and mechanisms. Production or manufacturing is a critical link in the design cycle, which starts with a creative idea and ends with a successful product. The program teaches about various steps involved in production engineering such as design, development, implementation, testing and also provides knowledge in various aspects of production operations such as monitoring production operations, ensuring safety protocols, evaluating staff’s performance, strategizing on maximizing productivity, increase profitability etc.
