Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery or GNM is a three-year nursing program, which will make the students capable to work as an independent entry-level nursing professional. This six-semester diploma program intended to offer training to students with knowledge and skills in different nursing procedures and techniques including geriatric nursing, palliative nursing, community health nursing, clinical nursing, medical and surgical nursing, gynecological nursing etc. Nursing students are trained to take care of individuals, families, and communities so they may attain, maintain, or recover optimal health and life. The program provides skills and knowledge in the promotion of health, prevention of illness, and the care of ill, disables and dying people, and can achieve ability in promotion of a safe environment, participation in shaping health policy and in patient and health systems managements etc.
