Economics is a branch of social science deals with the study and analysis of how people use and react to resources, wealth, money, goods and services. It also analyzes and describes production, distribution, consumption of goods and services. 'Economics' comes from two Greek words, 'eco' meaning home and 'nomos' meaning accounts. Business economics is concerned with the application of economic principles and methodologies to the decision-making process within the firm or organization. It seeks to establish rules and principles to facilitate the attainment of the desired economic goals of management. Master of Arts or M.A. in Business Economics is a two year postgraduate course with four semesters of study. This postgraduate program provides knowledge about how organizations make choices about how to allocate resources and also teaches the other theoretical and practical aspects of Business Economics. The course also helps students to develop analytical, judgmental, presentation and communication skills.
