Development Studies is a multi- and inter-disciplinary field of study that focuses on the evolution of nations from political, cultural, geographical and socio economic perspectives. This interdisciplinary branch of social science teaches the societal changes of countries in social, economic, political, technological and cultural aspects. Master of Arts or M.A. in Development Studies is a two year postgraduate course designed to teach the historical changes in the configuration and evolution of state, markets, social institutions and civil society and their increasing consequences on developing societies, such as India.
