Economics is a branch of social science deals with the study and analysis of how people use and react to resources, wealth, money, goods and services. It also analyzes and describes production, distribution, consumption of goods and services. 'Economics' comes from two Greek words, 'eco' meaning home and 'nomos' meaning accounts. There are many subdivisions for economics, out of which the two main areas of studies are macro economics and micro economics. Master of Arts or M.A. in Economics (Integrated) is a five year postgraduate course with ten semesters of study. This postgraduate program provides knowledge about how individuals, businesses, governments and nations make choices about how to allocate resources and also teaches the theoretical and practical aspects of Indian and international Economics. The course helps students to develop analytical, judgmental, presentation and communication skills.
