Description :

Master of Arts or M.A. Sanskrit is a two-year postgraduate course with four semesters of study. Sanskrit is one of the oldest languages belonging to the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European languages and this classical language is one of the twenty-two official languages of India. The aim of the course is to teach Sanskrit language and literature, and also to acquaint the students to rich Indian cultural heritage and social aspects. By studying this program students can achieve good command in speaking, reading and writing Sanskrit language. This course also conducts comparative study of religion, mythology and philosophy, which includes the study of historical, sociological and cultural aspects of Sanskrit Language and Literature and thus the students can achieve deep knowledge in the Sanskrit.
