Sanskrit is one of the oldest languages belonging to the Indo-Aryan branch of the Indo-European languages and this classical language is one of the twenty two official languages of India. M.A Sanskrit Language and Literature is a two year postgraduate course with four semesters of study. Language is a set of words to express our ideas to others. On the other hand, literature is the thought which is expressed with the help of language. The aim of the course is to teach Sanskrit language and literature, and also to understand the cultural and social aspects of Sanskrit language and literature.
