Sociology is that branch of social science which deals with the social behavior of human with the society and vice versa. It includes the study, analysis and explanations of human behavior to the society and to individuals, the reaction of the society, the patterns of social relationships, social change, culture, and consequences of human behavior etc. It also analyzes the important matters in human personal life and in the community. Master of Arts or M.A. in Sociology is a two year postgraduate course designed to acquire good knowledge in sociology by focusing on a wide range of techniques and issues like classical and contemporary theories, research methods, and statistics as well as on social issues of development, demography, urbanization and globalization etc. This course provides a detailed and in-depth theoretical as well as empirical analysis of different areas of sociology.
