Master of Science or M.Sc. in Applied Fisheries and Aquaculture is a two year postgraduate program which is design to deepen the knowledge in fisheries and aquaculture. Applied fisheries are mainly focused on the application of the fisheries techniques to practical. This four semester course teaches the different aspects of fisheries like fish processing, fishing technology and management, fisheries environment and fisheries extension, post harvest technology, industrial fisheries, fish nutrition etc. Aquaculture is the science of cultivating aquatic organisms especially for human consumption and it is also known as aqua farming. Aquaculture involves the process of rearing, breeding and harvesting of aquatic species, both animals and plants, in controlled aquatic environments. This course is a well designed program to provide good theoretical and practical skills to the students in the field of fisheries and aquaculture and that will equip them in their professional work in the field of fisheries and aquaculture.
