Statistics is the branch of science which deals with the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation and presentation of data in large quantities. Applied Statistics is concerned with the application of statistics and its techniques to solve problems. Statistics is concerned about statistical problems, while applied statistics concerned about using statistics for solving other problems. Master of Science or M.Sc. in Applied Statistics is a two year postgraduate program with four semesters of study. Applied Statistics teaches the methods and methodologies for applying statistical theories and techniques to solve problems and provides the skills and knowledge to arriving at valid and logical conclusions to whatever problems under consideration by analyzing sample data sets.
