M.Sc. Food & Industrial Microbiology

Eligibility: Graduation in Biological or Life Science/Food Science or Technology/Chemistry or equivalent
Course Level : Postgraduate (PG)
Duration : 2 Years
Description :

Master of Science or M.Sc. in Food and Industrial Microbiology is a postgraduate program with a span of two years of study. Food Microbiology is the scientific study of microorganisms that associated with food. It includes the study of microorganisms that inhibit, create or contaminate food. Industrial microbiology is a branch of microbiology that applies microbial sciences to industrial applications especially for the study, analysis and products of micro organisms in large quantities. This is an interdisciplinary program involving the study of food borne diseases and their surveillance and control, also teaches the advantages of microorganisms in the industrial production of metabolites, food products, vaccines, antibiotics etc. This four semester course helps students to deepen their knowledge in food and industrial microbiology and also can improve their theoretical and practical skills in the techniques of microbiology applicable in food and other industries.
