Master of Science or M.Sc. in Home Science - Extension Education is a two-year long postgraduate course in Home Science, and generally divided into four semesters. This course is an instructional activity offered beyond the confines of regular classes in school or campus. It studies every aspect of family and human resource management in complete detail. Home Science is a unique course that focuses upon every phase of human life. It touches every segment of the population; men and women, the young and the old, the enriched and the impoverished, the gifted and the disabled. The different courses encompass every aspect of human life- family and resource management, extension and community work, health and nutrition, diet and diseases. This course teaches Home Science with specialization in Extension Education, a branch of home science. Extension means the stretching out the ideas of research findings in the villages and the fields beyond the limits of the schools and colleges to which formal types of education normally confined. It develops and understanding the concept of Extension and management. The program helps students to deepen their knowledge in home science especially in extension education and get to know the changing trends in this extension.
