M.Sc. Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Eligibility: Graduation in Chemistry/Petrochemicals or equivalent
Course Level : Postgraduate (PG)
Duration : 2 Years
Description :

Chemistry is a branch of science which deals with the study of the properties, composition and structure of substances. It involves the study of elements and compounds composed of atoms, molecules and ions; their composition, structure, properties, behavior and the changes they undergo, also it teaches the reactions between substances and the energy that is released or absorbed during these processes. Pharmaceutical Chemistry is the branch of chemistry which deals with the study of drugs. It involves design and development of drugs. Master of Science or M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry is a four semester postgraduate program with two years of study. The course is designed to increase the knowledge in the concepts, processes techniques, facts and principles of pharmaceutical chemistry and also to deepen the ability to read, understand and interpret chemical information. The program teach the various techniques and methods involved in pharmaceutical chemistry and explain a broad spectrum of modern trends in pharmaceutical chemistry and also helps the students to develop experimental, observational and computational skills.
