M.Tech Structural Engineering

Eligibility: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or allied branches, or equivalent
Course Level : Postgraduate (PG)
Duration : 2 Years
Description :

Master of Technology or M.Tech in Structural Engineering is a specialized branch of civil engineering designed to teach the application of the laws of physics, mathematics and empirical knowledge for the safe design of load bearing elements of fabricated structures. The two-year postgraduate program involves the design of the concrete and non-concrete fabricated structures, the study of advanced materials and analysis of structures for dynamic forces. The main objective of this course is to produce structural engineers who possess strong design and analytical skills to create safe designs and structures. Modern day structural engineering provides a large and detailed body of knowledge that can accurately predict the performance of different shapes and materials used in structures to resist loads and stresses on structures. Being a specialty within the field of civil engineering, it focuses on the framework of structures, and on designing those structures to withstand the stresses and pressures of their environment and remain safe, stable and secure throughout their use.
